Who We Are & What We Do

Cognitive Toolbox is a Community Interest Company (CIC) aiming to bring accessible mental health and wellbeing support to the local community.

Getting support for mental health can come with many barriers. Cognitive Toolbox aims to try to make mental health support accessible and bridge the gap.

Creativity is a brilliant vehicle for self-expression and improving well-being. Teaching and sharing creative skills runs through the heart of what cognitive toolbox does whether that be music, art, craft, or poetry.

What is a Cognitive Toolbox?

This is a metaphor to explain how as we progress through life, it's almost like we are equipping ourselves with handy tools. that make us feel prepared to face life's challenges.

Obviously, these aren't physical tools,

The aim is for people to add more 'tools' to their individual toolboxes.

- Aiming to analyze what 'tools' they have and are using
- Analyze whether these work as they would want them to
- Encourage them to find more tools to fill up their 'cognitive toolbox'.

Our Story

Rebecca
Founder/Director

Cognitive Toolbox was created by Rebecca in 2024.

She explains...

"I created Cognitive Toolbox as I understand how much immediate mental health and wellbeing support is needed right now. It can be hard to find support, with increasing waiting lists and complicated systems to navigate. Support can sometimes feel distant and out of reach.

I also think navigating through life as a
neurodivergent individual is difficult. As a late diagnosed Autistic and Dyslexic, I think differently so I have to find specific support that works for me. I aim use that approach throughout Cognitive Toolbox."
